/볼륨 · /탐색 (volume, seek)

Both commands adjust the song playing right now. /볼륨 (volume) changes how loud it is, and /탐색 (seek) changes the playback position. By default, both need the DJ role, and a server admin can change that.

/볼륨: changing the volume

text
/볼륨
/볼륨 값:50

You can leave the 값 (value) field empty. If you do, it just tells you the current volume and changes nothing.

How you used itMessage you get
/볼륨 (no value)현재 볼륨: 60% ("Current volume: 60%")
/볼륨 값:60🔊 볼륨을 60%로 설정했어요 ("Set the volume to 60%")

Both replies are messages only you can see, so nothing is left in the channel.

Values from 0 to 100

The 값 field only accepts whole numbers from 0 to 100. Decimals or values like 101 are blocked by Discord before the command is even sent. You can't "turn it up past 100." Not supported

TIP

If it still sounds quiet at 100, check the user volume on the Discord side. It's the slider you get when you right-click the bot's name in the voice channel. It's a separate value that applies only to you.

Newly invited servers start at 8%

A server that just invited the bot starts at 8% volume. Most "I can't hear anything" questions come down to this, so it's a good idea to turn it up once at the start, to around /볼륨 값:50.

Volume is saved per server. No matter who changes it or where, the same server starts at that value the next time something plays, and it doesn't go back to 8% when the bot restarts.

Other ways to change the volume

MethodWhere
/볼륨 값:<0-100>Discord command box
🔊 button on the controller cardPress it on the playback card and an input box appears
Volume slider in the bottom playerWeb dashboard

All three change the same value. The result is the same wherever you change it. What server admins need to know is covered separately in Volume policy and volume sync.

When the volume doesn't change

Message you seeCauseWhat to do
먼저 음성 채널에 들어가주세요 ("Please join a voice channel first")You aren't in a voice channelJoin a voice channel and try again
❌ 지금 재생 중인 곡이 없어요 ("Nothing is playing right now")There's no bot in your channel, or nothing is playingJoin the channel the bot is in and try again

Checking the current volume without a value works outside a voice channel too. You're only blocked when you try to change it by entering a value.

/탐색: moving the playback position

/탐색 jumps to a specific position in the song playing now. The time field is quite flexible about formats. It accepts everything from familiar notation like 1:23, to unit notation like 90s and 2m, to just a plain number.

The 7 recognized formats

FormatExamplePosition it moves to
minutes:seconds1:231 min 23 s
hours:minutes:seconds1:02:031 h 2 min 3 s
Number only (seconds)9595 s = 1 min 35 s
milliseconds + ms500ms0.5 s
seconds + s90s90 s = 1 min 30 s
minutes + m2m2 min
hours + h1h1 h

Here's how you use it.

text
/탐색 시간:1:23
/탐색 시간:90s
/탐색 시간:2m

(시간 means "time.")

TIP

Upper and lower case and leading or trailing spaces are ignored. 2M and 2m are both handled exactly like 2m.

Colon notation in detail

Colon notation is recognized only when it has 2 or 3 parts.

  • 1:23 → minutes:seconds
  • 1:02:03 → hours:minutes:seconds
  • 1:2:3:4 → has 4 parts, so it isn't recognized

There's no upper limit on the number in each part. 0:90 is calculated as 90 seconds, or 1 minute 30 seconds. You can also use a decimal in the seconds part (1:23.5 → 1 minute 23.5 seconds).

If you leave the part before or after a colon empty, that part counts as 0. 1: is the same as 1:00, and :30 is the same as 0:30. Typos are easy to miss, so it's safer to write out the full value.

Unit notation in detail

You can use four units, ms, s, m and h, and you can add only one unit.

  • 90s → 90 seconds
  • 2m → 2 minutes
  • 1h → 1 hour
  • 500ms → 0.5 seconds

Decimals work too. 1.5m is 1 minute 30 seconds. But notation that chains two units, like 1m30s, isn't recognized. In that case, write 1:30 or 90s.

A plain number means seconds

If you write just a number with no colon or unit, it's read as seconds. 95 is 95 seconds. Negative numbers aren't accepted.

When the move works

text
🎛️ `1:23` 위치로 이동했어요

(It means "Moved to 1:23.")

The time shown in the confirmation isn't the notation you typed. It's recalculated and shown as minutes:seconds under an hour, or hours:minutes:seconds for an hour or more. Even if you move with 90s, the message says 1:30.

NOTE

If you move to under 1 second, the confirmation shows 0:00. That's what happens when you enter 500ms. A message that says 0:00 doesn't mean the move failed.

Songs you can't seek

You can't set a position in songs with no set end, like live broadcasts or streams. In that case, you get the message below.

text
❌ 이 곡은 탐색할 수 없어요

(It means "This song can't be seeked.")

This usually applies to songs that show 라이브 (live) in the 재생 시간 (playback time) field of /현재곡 (now playing).

Messages when the move doesn't work

Message you seeCauseWhat to do

❌ 이 곡은 탐색할 수 없어요 ("This song can't be seeked")It's a live broadcast or stream, so you can't set a positionInstead of seeking, move to the next song with /스킵 (skip)
❌ 지금 재생 중인 곡이 없어요 ("Nothing is playing right now")Nothing is playing, or there's no bot in the voice channel you're inJoin the voice channel the bot is in and try again

이 조작을 사용할 권한이 없어요. ("You don't have permission to use this action.")You don't have permission to seekSee the "Permissions" section below

Permissions

By default, both /볼륨 and /탐색 need the DJ role. Only server admins and people with the DJ role can use them. Anyone else gets 이 조작을 사용할 권한이 없어요.

Server admins can change this to one of 모두 / DJ / 신청자 / 관리자 (everyone / DJ / requester / admin). For details, see The DJ role and per-action permissions.

Controlling from the dashboard

The web dashboard has controls for both commands. You set the volume with the slider in the bottom player, and the position by dragging the progress bar. You don't type a time, so the notation rules above don't apply in the dashboard.

To control things from the dashboard, you must be in the same voice channel as the bot. If you're in a different channel, you get the message below.

text
봇과 같은 음성 채널에 있어야 조작할 수 있어요.

(It means "You have to be in the same voice channel as the bot to control it.")

If you aren't in a voice channel at all, the message is different.

text
이 서버의 음성 채널에 들어가 있어야 조작할 수 있어요.

(It means "You have to be in a voice channel in this server to control it.")

When a second bot is assigned on a Premium server

In a channel where a sub-bot is playing on a Premium server, using /탐색 on a live song may give you the message below instead of ❌ 이 곡은 탐색할 수 없어요.

text
⚠️ 명령어 처리 중 오류가 발생했어요

(It means "An error occurred while processing the command.")

It means the same thing: live songs can't be seeked. What a sub-bot is is covered in Listening in several channels at once (Premium).

Common situations

  • I turned the volume up, but it's quiet again the next time something plays. This happens when you changed it in a channel held by a sub-bot. The reason is in Volume policy and volume sync.
  • I entered a time, but the song started again from the beginning. If the bot just restarted, it may still be restoring the queue and lining up the playback position. Try /탐색 again in a moment.
  • I entered a value longer than the song. It tries to move even past the end of the song, so the song may just end. The song's full length appears in the 재생 시간 field of /현재곡 as current position / total length, so enter a value within that range.
