The lyrics panel and history screen
Lyrics and history are both dashboard-only features. You can't view lyrics or pull up history with Discord commands. Lyrics are on the "지금 재생" (now playing) screen, and history is in the avatar menu in the top right. This page explains how to read and use both screens.
Lyrics panel
Open 지금 재생 from the sidebar and you'll find the lyrics panel below the song info, above the "다음 곡" (up next) list.
When the song changes, it looks for lyrics automatically. While it searches, "가사를 찾는 중…" ("Looking for lyrics…") shows briefly, and when it finds them, a title line appears. If it can't find any, the whole panel disappears. No error message appears.
NOTE
Missing lyrics doesn't mean something is broken. More songs than you'd think have no lyrics data at all. Covers, anime songs, cheering songs and kids' content are especially likely to be like this.
Expanding and collapsing
The lyrics panel is collapsed by default. You have to press "펼치기 (N줄)" ("expand (N lines)") on the right of the title line to see the content. N is the actual number of lyric lines. Once you expand it, your browser remembers that choice, so it stays expanded from the next song on. Collapsing is remembered the same way. This setting isn't per song. One setting applies to all songs.
The three badges
The small text next to the title tells you what kind of lyrics you're looking at.
| Badge | Meaning | Do the lines follow along |
|---|---|---|
| SYNC (red) | Lyrics with timing information for this song | Yes |
| 가사 (lyrics) | Full text without timing information | No |
| 원곡 가사 (original song lyrics) | It's a cover, so the original song's lyrics are shown instead | No |
With 원곡 가사, the "artist - title" that was actually matched appears next to the badge. You can check here whether the wrong song was matched. Covers have different timing from the original, so even if timing information exists, it's deliberately not used and only the full text is shown.
Here's the order it looks for lyrics in. If the YouTube video itself has captions added by the uploader, it uses those first. They follow the video's timeline, so the sync is accurate. If there are no captions, it looks for lyrics using the title and playback length. If there's still nothing and the title contains "cover" or "커버" (cover), it searches once more using the original song's name.
NOTE
If the title has no real information, like Unknown title, 제목 없음 (no title) or 알 수 없음 (unknown), or is too short at a single word, it doesn't look for lyrics. Searching with a title like that would just match the wrong song. But if the video itself has uploader captions, those are used regardless of the title, so lyrics can still appear for songs like these.
When the sync is off: ±0.5-second adjustment
Only for songs with the SYNC badge, −0.5s and +0.5s buttons and the current offset appear on the right of the title line. The default is 0.0s, and each press moves it by 0.5 seconds.
- If the lyrics move on late, press
−0.5s(lyrics earlier) - If the lyrics move on early, press
+0.5s(lyrics later)
The offset is saved in your browser per song. When you play the same song again, the value you set last time is applied as is. It doesn't carry over to other browsers or other devices.
The current line is highlighted in white and the rest are dimmed, and it scrolls automatically so the highlighted line stays in the middle of the panel. During parts with no words, like an instrumental break, the previous line stays highlighted.
TIP
It's fine to scroll yourself while reading the lyrics. The moment it moves to the next line, it re-centers.
History screen
Press your avatar in the top right and choose 기록 (history) to open it. It isn't in the sidebar menu. You can reload it with the 새로고침 (refresh) button in the top right of the screen.
There are two columns side by side, and the two columns work on completely different bases.
Left: songs recently played on this server
These are songs that actually played on the server you're looking at now. No matter who added them, or whether they were added with a Discord command or from the dashboard, a song is recorded the moment it actually starts playing. Only the most recent 30 are shown.
Right: songs you added
These are songs your account added from the dashboard. Up to the most recent 30 are shown. Three kinds of things go here.
- When you add a song to the queue by pressing it individually in search results, inside an explore card, in history, or in a playlist's tracks
- When you save a song to a playlist (including 현재곡 저장 (save current song))
- When you import a YouTube playlist into your library
NOTE
Play all isn't recorded here. That includes adding an explore card or playlist to the queue all at once, and play all or shuffle play in the YouTube preview. Only songs you pressed one at a time are recorded. Of course, once those songs actually start playing, they do appear in the left column.
WARNING
The right column doesn't distinguish between servers. Songs you added on other servers are mixed in too. There's no server name next to each song, so it's hard to notice, but if you see "a song I never added on this server," that's why. If you want to see what played on this server, look at the left column.
On the other hand, songs added with Discord commands aren't recorded in the right column. Once they start playing, they appear in the left column. So it's normal for a song to be in the left column but not in the right.
What you can do on each row
Each row shows the album art, song title, artist and source name, and the date and time. Press the play button at the far right to add that song to the queue again. A "기록에서 대기열에 추가했어요." ("Added to the queue from history.") notice appears.
Adding a song again also only works while you're in a voice channel. Otherwise, you get 이 서버의 음성 채널에 들어가 있어야 조작할 수 있어요 ("You have to be in a voice channel in this server to control it").
What's kept in history is the song information, not the audio from that time. If the original video was deleted or made private, adding it again may fail.
When history is empty
If both columns only say "표시할 기록이 없어요." ("There's no history to show."), there are two possibilities.
- There really is no history. That's normal if you just brought the bot in.
- Some servers are set not to keep history.
If it stays empty even after several days of use, it's the second case, so check with your server admin.
