Listening in several channels at once (Premium)
By default, only one voice channel in a server can listen to music. In a server with Yeonhee Premium turned on, extra bots can join so that each channel plays different music at the same time. This page explains those rules and what changes when you use a bot in another channel.
Yeonhee Premium has nothing to do with the Yeonhong membership
The "Premium" here is a server-level setting of the Yeonhee bot. It only shares a similar name with the personal membership tiers sold by Studio Yeonhong. They are completely separate. Buying a membership doesn't turn this feature on, and a Premium server doesn't get membership benefits either. Personal memberships are a Yeonhong bot feature, so see What is a membership: benefits by tier at a glance.
What changes
| Regular server | Premium server | |
|---|---|---|
| Voice channels playing music at once | 1 | As many as there are free bots |
If you use /재생 (play) in another channel | It's refused | A free bot joins and plays |
| Bots in one channel | 1 | 1 (several bots don't join the same channel) |
Even with Premium on, only one bot joins each voice channel. Think of it as each channel getting one bot assigned to it.
Which bot gets your command
There's just one rule. Only the bot assigned to the voice channel you're in right now is controlled.
You always send commands to the Yeonhee bot. The bot looks at the voice channel the person who sent the command is in, and controls the bot assigned to that channel. It never touches a bot playing in another channel.
Music is playing in the next channel, but you get `지금 재생 중인 곡이 없어요`
If there's no bot assigned to your channel and you use a control command like /스킵 (skip) or /일시정지 (pause), it's refused with ❌ 지금 재생 중인 곡이 없어요 ("Nothing is playing right now"). That's true even if there's sound coming from the next channel. Check which channel the bot icon is in on the voice channel list, and join that channel. You can control it right away. If you want to listen separately in your own channel, start fresh with /재생. On a Premium server, another bot joins.
If you aren't in a voice channel at all, you get 먼저 음성 채널에 들어가주세요 ("Please join a voice channel first").
Two reasons you see
(It means "There are no more bots available right now. Please try again in a moment.")
This message appears when you try to start playback in a new channel. There are two reasons.
1. The server isn't Premium
The bot is already being used in another channel, and Premium is off for this server. No more bots can join, so playback can't start in a new channel. You can do one of three things.
- Join the channel the bot is in and listen together
- Wait until they finish listening in that channel and the bot leaves
- Ask a server admin to turn on Premium (Turning on Premium)
2. The server is Premium but has no free bots
Premium is on, but there isn't a single bot left that can join right now. This happens when every bot is in use in other channels, or when the bots are briefly off. If the bots just restarted, it may look like "no free bots" for a short while, so try again in a moment.
TIP
A bot that's idle because its queue has finished can join another channel again. If the music ended in some channel, that bot can be used in another channel right away. It does leave its original channel and move over.
If you run into the same situation in the web dashboard, the message is a little different.
(It means "The bot is already playing in another channel. You need a Premium sub-bot.")
Features that are limited with a bot in another channel
When the bot assigned to your channel isn't the main bot, some features work a little differently.
| Feature | With a bot in another channel |
|---|---|
/대기열 (queue) | Shows only the current song and 외 N곡 ("N more"). The list of upcoming songs doesn't appear |
| Dashboard queue | Only the first 50 songs are shown |
| Previous song (⏮️) in the dashboard | Not supported |
| Play/pause toggle in the dashboard | Not supported. Press play and pause separately |
| Some dashboard queue edits | May be refused depending on the screen. Use the Discord commands instead |
/탐색 (seek) | Works. But for a song that can't be seeked, the notice comes out as a general error |
If you try an unsupported action in the dashboard, you get one of the messages below.
(It means "This feature isn't supported yet for a bot in another channel.")
(It means "This feature isn't supported for a bot in another channel. Please use a command in Discord.")
NOTE
The buttons on the controller message that the bot posted itself work without limits. The previous song button also works normally on that message. The limits above apply only when you control a bot in another channel from the dashboard.
Play, pause, stop, skip, shuffle, volume, repeat, seek and leave, as well as clearing the queue, removing, reordering and jumping to a specific song, all work the same with a bot in another channel.
When responses are slow or fail
If a bot in another channel doesn't answer in time, you get ⚠️ 명령어 처리 중 오류가 발생했어요 ("An error occurred while processing the command") with one line underneath giving the cause.
- It means that bot just restarted or is slow to respond. Try again in a moment.
- If it keeps happening, tell the staff, including the text on that second line.
The playback status in the dashboard may also look empty for a moment. Check again shortly.
Turning on Premium
Premium isn't a setting users turn on themselves. It's a server-level setting that the Studio Yeonhong staff turn on for you. If you need it, ask through your server admin. The steps are in Turning on Premium (sub-bots).
Even after Premium is on, the extra bots must be invited to that server before they can join channels. If Premium is on but playback still doesn't work in a new channel, pass the refusal message you saw to the staff exactly as it appeared.
