A tour of the dashboard screens
The dashboard puts four blocks together on one screen: the sidebar on the left, the header at the top, the main area in the middle, and the player at the bottom. This page goes over what's in each block and which buttons actually work. Individual features have their own pages: Queue · Playlists · Lyrics and history.
Left sidebar
From the top: the bot's name (연희, Yeonhee) with an online indicator, the connected voice channel card, and five navigation menus.
Connected voice channel card
It shows the server you're looking at and the voice channel you're in on that server. If you aren't in a voice channel, it says "음성 채널 없음" (no voice channel). The bottom line shows the title of the song playing now, with a headphone icon.
Press the card and the server list opens downward inside the sidebar. Each row shows the server icon and name, "내가 접속 중 · 채널명" ("you're connected · channel name"), and the names and channels of the Yeonhee bots in voice channels on that server. Press a row to switch to that server. While it switches, a "전환 중…" (switching…) spinner turns.
NOTE
The number next to the headphones isn't the actual number of people. It only shows 1+ if the bot is connected, or 0 if it isn't. It doesn't count how many people are in the channel, so treat it as a rough hint.
The five navigation menus
| Menu | Content | Number beside it |
|---|---|---|
| 지금 재생 (now playing) | Large album art, song info, lyrics, the next 4 songs | None |
| 탐색 (explore) | 10 ready-made playlist cards | None |
| 검색 (search) | Search results screen | None |
| 재생 대기열 (play queue) | The whole queue and reordering | Number of waiting songs |
| 플레이리스트 (playlists) | Your playlists and YouTube import | Number of playlists |
기록 (history) and 설정 (settings) aren't in this list. You get to them by pressing your avatar in the top right. The settings menu is visible only to people with server administrator permission.
Top header
From the left: two arrows, the search box, the warning badge, the current channel indicator, and your avatar.
The left and right arrows (< >) to the left of the search box don't work yet. Use your browser's back and forward buttons instead.
Search box
Type a song title or link and press Enter to go to the search screen. It doesn't play right away. Results are split into three tabs, YouTube · Spotify · SoundCloud, and each tab shows its result count. If results can't be fetched from one of them, that tab shows a warning mark.
Up to 20 results are shown at a time. Press 더보기 (more) to show 20 more. Press a song row to add it to the queue, and a "대기열에 추가했어요" ("Added to the queue") notice appears.
Even songs picked from the Spotify tab are actually found and played on YouTube, so you may get a live, cover or instrumental version. If a song is judged to be an instrumental version, a green INST badge appears next to its title.
System warning badge
An orange pill appears only when there's a problem. Hover over it or give it keyboard focus and its details expand.
| Warning | Meaning | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| Discord 연결 불안정 (Discord connection unstable) | The bot isn't connected well to Discord | Wait. Actions may take effect late |
| Lavalink 연결 문제 (Lavalink connection problem) | There's a problem with the part that actually plays the music | New songs fail to play. Let your server admin know |
| 봇 음성 연결 끊김 (bot voice connection lost) | The bot isn't connected to a voice channel | Call the bot again or let your server admin know |
| 대시보드 실시간 연결 끊김 (dashboard live connection lost) | The connection between the screen and the bot dropped briefly | Wait a moment and it usually reconnects on its own |
While the last one is showing, the screen updates slowly, and some actions (especially queue editing on Premium servers) may be blocked. For details, see Managing the queue in the dashboard.
Current channel indicator and avatar menu
To the right of the warning badge, the name of the voice channel you're in appears as a pill, and while something is playing, the bars beside it move.
Press your avatar to open a menu.
- Your name, plus a crown and DJ 권한 (DJ permission) if you have the DJ role
- 기록 (history): songs you listened to recently and songs you added
- 설정 (settings): visible only to server admins
- 로그아웃 (log out)
Click outside the menu to close it.
Main area in the middle
The content changes depending on the menu you choose. Here's a short summary of what's special about each screen.
지금 재생 (now playing)
Large album art sits on the left, with colors taken from the artwork softly spreading in the background. On the right are the status (지금 재생 중 (now playing) / 일시정지 (paused) / 대기 중 (idle)), the song title, artist, album and year, and the avatar and name of the person who requested the song.
Below that is the lyrics panel, and below that, a preview of the next 4 songs. "대기열 전체보기" (view full queue) in the top right takes you to the queue screen.
CAUTION
If you press a song title in the "다음 곡" (up next) list, it skips straight to that song. It isn't a preview. On top of that, the songs before it are removed from the queue, and you can't undo it. If you only meant to check the order, don't press the titles.
탐색 (explore)
The cards are set out in two groups: six playlists by tag (K-pop Mix, J-pop / Anime, Lo-fi Study, City Pop, Gaming BGM, Acoustic Chill) and four popular charts (Korea / Japan / English Top 50, SoundCloud Trending).
Press a card to open its song list. You can add the whole thing with 전체 재생 (play all), or add songs one at a time. If you open a list before it's ready, you may briefly see a notice in English. In that case, press it again in a moment.
Search, play queue, playlists and history
- Search works as described in the header section above.
- For the play queue, see Managing the queue in the dashboard.
- For playlists, see Playlists and importing YouTube playlists.
- For history, see The lyrics panel and history screen.
Bottom player
This is the bar that's always at the very bottom of the screen. The current song is on the left, the controls in the middle, and extra buttons on the right.
| Position | Button | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Left | Album art and song info | Press to go to the "지금 재생" (now playing) screen |
| Middle | Shuffle | Shuffles the queue order |
| Middle | Previous song | Goes back to the song that played just before |
| Middle | Play / pause | The white round button. Its shape changes with the state |
| Middle | Next song | Skips |
| Middle | Repeat | Each press cycles off → one song → all |
| Middle | Progress bar | Drag to move to the point you want |
| Right | List icon | Goes to the queue screen |
| Right | Stop | Stops playback |
| Right | Volume slider | Drag between 0 and 100 |
When repeat is on, the icon turns red, and for single-song repeat it changes to a shape with a number 1 on it.
When you grab and drag the progress bar, the time follows along in a speech bubble, and it moves to that point the moment you let go. The volume is dragged the same way and applies when you let go.
NOTE
The heart icon to the right of the song info and the broadcast (antenna) icon at the far right don't work yet. If you want to save a song, use the 현재곡 저장 (save current song) button on the playlist details screen.
If you press a control button and nothing changes except a brief notice at the bottom of the screen, it's a permission or voice channel issue. Check the permissions table in Managing the queue in the dashboard.
On a phone
When the screen gets narrow, the layout changes a lot.
- The sidebar moves down into a bottom tab bar. The bot name and the connected voice channel card disappear. This means you can't switch servers on a phone. To change servers, widen the screen or open it on a PC.
- The player turns into a small bar. Only two buttons remain, play/pause and next song. Shuffle, previous song, repeat, stop, volume and the queue shortcut are hidden.
- The progress bar sits as a thin strip on top of the mini player. It's narrow, so precise seeking is hard.
- The heart icon is hidden entirely.
NOTE
On a narrow screen, the last item in the bottom tab bar (playlists) may get pushed to a second line and look squashed or cut off. It can still be pressed, but if its position looks off, use the list icon in the bottom player or a link on the screen instead.
How the screen updates on its own
The dashboard stays connected to the bot, so when the song changes or someone touches the queue, the screen changes without refreshing. The progress bar and the current lyrics line also move along with playback on their own.
If the connection drops, a "대시보드 실시간 연결 끊김" (dashboard live connection lost) warning appears in the header, and it usually reconnects on its own. Most buttons keep working while you wait, so it doesn't freeze up completely.
