/재생 · /검색 · /다음재생 (play, search, play next)

These are the three commands you'll use most in Yeonhee. All three do the same job: find a song and add it to the queue. They differ in just two ways: whether they show you candidates, and where in the queue the song goes.

All three require the 검색어 (search term) field, and you can leave the 소스 (source) field empty.

Join a voice channel first

All three commands work only while you're in a voice channel. Whether or not the bot is already in a channel, if the person using the command is outside a voice channel, it does nothing and just replies with this.

text
먼저 음성 채널에 들어가주세요

(It means "Please join a voice channel first.")

You don't need to call the bot in beforehand. If you use /재생 (play) while you're in a voice channel, the bot follows you in on its own.

Which one to use

CommandShows candidatesWhere it goesUse it when
/재생NoEnd of the queueYou're sure of the title or have a link
/검색 (search)Yes (up to 10 songs)End of the queueThere are several songs with the same title and you want to pick by eye
/다음재생 (play next)NoFront of the queueYou want this song to play as soon as the current one ends

If nothing is playing right now, all three give the same result. The song you add plays immediately. The difference only shows when songs are already lined up in the queue.

/재생

This is the most basic command. It doesn't show candidates. It puts the best match straight at the end of the queue.

text
/재생 검색어: 아이유 밤편지
→ ✅ `밤편지 - IU`을(를) 대기열에 추가했어요

(The reply means "Added 밤편지 - IU to the queue.")

  • If nothing is playing, playback starts as soon as you add it, and a controller card appears in the text channel where you used the command.
  • If something is already playing, the song goes to the end of the queue. The current song isn't interrupted.
  • In the 검색어 field you can type a song title or paste an address.

If you add a playlist address, the whole list goes in, not just one song. The reply changes too.

text
✅ `내 플레이리스트`에서 12곡을 대기열에 추가했어요

(It means "Added 12 songs from 내 플레이리스트 (my playlist) to the queue.")

The number of songs added is shown, so if it differs from how many you put in, some songs were left out along the way. Why songs get left out and the maximum number added at once are covered in Searching and choosing a source.

/다음재생

It works exactly like /재생. Only the position is different: it slots the song in at the front of the queue. When the song playing now ends, this is the song that comes next.

text
/다음재생 검색어: 아이유 밤편지
→ ✅ `밤편지 - IU`을(를) 다음 곡으로 추가했어요

(The reply means "Added 밤편지 - IU as the next song.")

If the reply says 다음 곡으로 추가했어요 ("added as the next song") instead of 대기열에 추가했어요 ("added to the queue"), it went in correctly.

NOTE

It doesn't touch the song playing now. /다음재생 isn't a command that cuts off the current song and plays yours right away. If you want to hear it right now, add it with /다음재생 and then use /스킵 (skip).

CAUTION

If you use /다음재생 several times in a row, the song you added last goes in front. If you add three songs in order, they actually play in the reverse order. If you want to line up several songs in a particular order, it's safer to add only the first one with /다음재생 and add the rest after it with /재생.

If you put a playlist address into /다음재생, the whole list goes to the front. If it has many songs, the songs already in the queue get pushed far back, so be careful.

/검색

Use this when the title alone isn't enough to tell which recording it is. It shows a list of candidates, and only the one you pick goes in.

  1. Run /검색 검색어: (song title). You can choose a 소스 too if you like.
  2. A select menu appears with (검색어) 검색 결과예요. 재생할 곡을 선택해주세요 ("Here are the results for (search term). Choose a song to play").
  3. Open the menu and the candidates are listed. Each line shows the title, with the artist and length in small text underneath.
  4. When you pick one, only that song goes into the queue. The menu disappears and changes to ✅ ...을(를) 대기열에 추가했어요 ("Added ... to the queue").

The placeholder text in the menu is 재생할 곡을 선택해요 ("Choose a song to play").

Select menu rules

RuleDetails
Up to 10 songsNo matter how many results there are, it shows only the first 10
60 secondsThe menu expires 60 seconds after it appears
Only the person who ran itOnly you, the person who used /검색, can pick
Only onceOnce you pick one, that menu is done. To add two songs, search again
To the endThe song you pick goes to the end of the queue, not the front

If you leave it without picking

If you leave it without picking anything, it simply expires after 60 seconds. You don't need to cancel it. The menu stays on screen, but if you press it after it expires, you get the message below and nothing happens.

text
⚠️ 검색 선택 시간이 만료되었어요. 다시 검색해주세요

(It means "The time to choose a search result has expired. Please search again.")

The same goes for a menu you opened a long time ago, or one opened before the bot restarted. Just use /검색 again.

NOTE

You can't pick from a search menu someone else opened. You'll be told that only the person who ran the search can use it. If you want to pick, run /검색 yourself.

WARNING

On a Premium server, if a second bot is assigned to your voice channel, /검색 doesn't work properly Not supported. In that channel, use /재생 or paste the address directly. What this situation is about is explained in Listening in several channels at once (Premium).

The 소스 option

All three commands have a 소스 field. It isn't a field you type into. You choose one of the four options below.

  • YouTube
  • YouTube Music
  • SoundCloud
  • Spotify

Leaving it empty is the default, and in most cases that's better. If you leave it empty, the bot finds the song for you. If you paste an address, the address takes priority even if you choose a 소스, so choosing one has practically no effect.

What each option actually does, and why choosing Spotify can give you a different song, are covered in detail in Searching and choosing a source: supported links. The list of addresses you can paste is on the same page.

No suggestions while you type

The 검색어 field has no autocomplete. Song suggestions don't drop down while you type. The bot starts looking for the song only after you finish typing and press Enter. If you want to see candidates, use /검색.

Only you can see the replies

Replies to all three commands come as messages only you can see. Adding a song leaves no trace in the channel. The only thing others can see is the controller card that appears when playback starts.

To check what went in, use /대기열 (queue) or press the 📜 button on the controller card. This is covered in Queue, repeat and shuffle.

When it doesn't work

MessageWhat it means and what to do
먼저 음성 채널에 들어가주세요 ("Please join a voice channel first")Join a voice channel and run it again
❌ (검색어)에 맞는 곡을 찾지 못했어요 ("Couldn't find a song matching (search term)")The search worked but found nothing. Try again with the artist's name added
❌ 이 곡은 너무 길어요 ("This song is too long")With the default settings, songs longer than 10 minutes aren't played
YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud 공식 링크만 사용할 수 있어요 ("Only official YouTube, Spotify and SoundCloud links can be used")That address isn't accepted. The addresses you can use are on the sources page

If you get no results, first check whether you chose a 소스. If you specify a source, songs that aren't on it can't be found at all. Clearing it and running the command again often finds the song.

Who can use them

Anyone in a voice channel can use /재생, /검색 and /다음재생. You don't need the DJ role or admin permission.

Unlike adding songs, actions like stop, skip and volume depend on permissions. The defaults are in the permissions table on Full list of slash commands.
