Managing the queue in the dashboard
Editing the queue is where the dashboard is clearly easier than Discord. Discord's /대기열 (queue) shows only the first 10 songs, but the dashboard's 재생 대기열 (play queue) screen shows them all and even lets you reorder them. There are two actions mixed in that can't be undone, though, so please read this page first.
The queue screen
Open it by pressing 재생 대기열 in the sidebar, or the list icon on the right side of the bottom player.
- At the top: the number of waiting songs and their combined length (the time left on the song playing now isn't included here)
- On the right: the 셔플 (shuffle) and 전체 지우기 (clear all) buttons (if the queue is empty, clear all can't be pressed)
- Below that: the song playing now, highlighted with a red band
- Then the "다음 곡" (up next) divider and the queue list
Each row in the list has, from the left: a drag handle, its position number, album art, the song title, the artist and album, the avatar and name of the person who requested it, its length, and at the far right, up and down arrows and an X button.
How to add songs to the queue
The queue screen itself has no input box. You add songs from other screens.
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| Header search box | Search, then click a result row |
| 탐색 (explore) | Open a card and use 전체 재생 (play all), or click songs one at a time |
| 플레이리스트 (playlists) | On the details screen, use 전체 재생, or click a track |
| 기록 (history) | The play button on the right of each row |
| Discord | The /재생 (play) and /다음재생 (play next) commands |
Songs you add always go to the end of the queue. If you want to slot one in right after the current song, use /다음재생 in Discord. The dashboard has no button to insert a song there.
Reordering
There are two ways, and the result is the same.
- Drag: grab the six-dot handle on the left of a row and drag it to where you want it. While you drag, a red line shows where it will land.
- Arrows: move it one step at a time with the up and down arrows on the right of a row. The up arrow on the top song and the down arrow on the bottom song are gray and disabled.
TIP
Dragging is designed for a mouse. On a phone or tablet, dragging with your finger may not grab the row, so the arrows are more reliable. If you need to move a song a long way, it's faster to remove it and add it again.
Removing one song
Press the X at the far right of a row and only that song is taken out of the queue. There's no confirmation window. It's removed right away. The song playing now isn't in the queue list, so you can't remove it with X. To move past the current song, use the next song button.
Pressing a song title removes the songs before it
This is the part of this screen you need to be most careful with.
CAUTION
In the queue, pressing a song title skips straight to that song. And the songs that were before it are all removed from the queue. If you press the 5th song, songs 1 to 4 disappear and song 5 plays. There's no undo, so you'd have to search for them and add them again.
The title looks like plain text, so it's easy to press it thinking "maybe it shows details?", but it's neither a preview nor a details view. If you only want to check the order, don't press the titles. The same behavior applies to the up-next list on the "지금 재생" (now playing) screen.
If you want to keep the songs before it, don't press the title. Instead, move the song you want to hear to the top with the arrows or by dragging, then press the next song button. That way nothing is removed.
Shuffle and clear all
- 셔플 shuffles the order of the songs left in the queue. The song playing now carries on. You can't put the shuffled order back the way it was.
- 전체 지우기 empties the whole queue. It runs immediately without a confirmation window, and when it works, a notice says "대기열을 모두 지웠어요." ("Cleared the whole queue."). The song playing now keeps playing.
The repeat mode (off / one song / all) isn't on the queue screen. It's on the repeat button in the bottom player. Each press cycles through the three states.
When actions are blocked
If you press a button and only a short notice appears at the bottom of the screen with no change, it's one of the three cases below.
1. You're outside a voice channel
You get 이 서버의 음성 채널에 들어가 있어야 조작할 수 있어요 ("You have to be in a voice channel in this server to control it"). Joining a voice channel in that server in Discord fixes it.
2. You're in a different room from the bot
You get 봇과 같은 음성 채널에 있어야 조작할 수 있어요 ("You have to be in the same voice channel as the bot to control it"). Move to the channel the bot is in. In this state, the queue list itself may look empty. It isn't broken. It's hidden.
3. Your permission level isn't high enough
You get the English notice permission is required. It means "you don't have permission."
The server admin decides the level each action needs. The defaults, if no one has changed them, are as follows.
| Action | Default level | Where it's used on the queue screen |
|---|---|---|
| Pause / play | Everyone | Bottom player |
| Next song | Requester or higher | Next song button, X remove, reordering, jumping to a song |
| Previous song | Requester or higher | Bottom player |
| Stop | DJ or higher | Stop button, 전체 지우기 (clear all) |
| Shuffle | DJ or higher | Shuffle button |
| Repeat | DJ or higher | Repeat button |
| Volume | DJ or higher | Volume slider |
| Seek (moving the position) | DJ or higher | Dragging the progress bar |
Here's how the level is checked.
- Server admins pass everything.
- "DJ or higher" requires the DJ role set by an admin.
- "Requester or higher" passes if you have the DJ role, or if you requested the song playing now.
WARNING
"Requester or higher" looks at who requested the song playing now, not the song you're trying to move. So you can be refused even when you're trying to remove a song you added yourself. If someone else requested the song playing now, you can't touch the queue unless you're a DJ. Try again when it's your song's turn, or ask a DJ.
You can check whether you have DJ permission in the avatar menu in the top right. "DJ 권한" (DJ permission) appears under your name with a crown.
When you can't touch the queue on a Premium server
On a Premium server, where a bot joins each channel, a sub-bot may be handling the channel you're in. Normally you can control it from the dashboard as usual, but while the "대시보드 실시간 연결 끊김" (dashboard live connection lost) warning is showing in the header, queue actions are refused with this message.
이 기능은 다른 채널의 봇에서는 지원되지 않아요. Discord에서 명령어를 사용해주세요.(It means "This feature isn't supported for a bot in another channel. Please use a command in Discord.")
If you see this message, wait a moment (it usually reconnects on its own) and try again, or handle it with Discord commands.
For the same reason, while a sub-bot is playing, the queue may look shorter than it really is, or empty. For details, see Listening in several channels at once (Premium).
When you see "요청이 너무 많아요" (too many requests)
If you press too fast, you're blocked for a moment. Wait a few seconds and press again. Failed attempts count too, so if you keep pressing while blocked, it actually takes longer.
